Behind the Blooms #3

Hey flower lovers,

I’m Laura – the hands (and heart) behind Flaurals Floristry. Welcome to my monthly round-up where I give you a peek behind the petals at what’s blooming in my world as a Scottish florist, creator, and small business owner based in Caithness.

🌸 The Caithness Show: Field Flowers, Sustainability & Big Feelings

One of my favourite moments this month was designing the arrangements for the Caithness Show hospitality tent. Think big, beautiful, locally grown blooms – all foam-free, of course – designed to celebrate summer and community. Afterwards, I donated the arrangements to local care homes to spread the joy a little further. It felt like a full-circle moment of why I do what I do.

💐 Newsletter No.3 - Closer Than Social Media

If you’ve been enjoying my Instagram or TikTok (@flaurals.floral.design), the newsletter takes things up a level. It’s where I share the behind-the-scenes chaos, creative wins, and very real small biz moments that don’t always make the grid. This month, subscribers got the full download on:

  • What inspired this year’s Caithness Show florals

  • Big news about upcoming workshops (🎃)

  • My new newsletter structure – it’s becoming its own thing

  • Plus: some deeply feminist flower girl ramblings and local love

Want to be part of the inner circle? You can sign up for the newsletter here – it's monthly, free, and full of blooms, boldness and a bit of beautiful chaos.

🌿 What’s Next at Flaurals

There’s a lot coming soon, including:

  • Workshop bookings opening in September! Keep an eye out for pumpkin florals, festive bits, and more.

  • A studio update – let’s just say it's giving wildflower romance meets dramatic moody florals...

  • Upcoming flower demonstrations across the Highlands

If you’re planning a wedding in 2025/2026 or want to book something seasonal, now’s the time to get in touch – I’m already filling up for peak dates.

💬 Let’s Chat Flowers

Got a question about your bouquet? Want to book something bespoke? Or just fancy a flower ramble? My inbox and DMs are always open. I genuinely love talking all things floristry, whether it’s dreamy colour palettes or what’s thriving in your garden.
